Idea Development: Object Update

As I tried to think of something artistic to discuss, my childhood memories helped me choose the Maroccan Tajine. The Tajine is one of the oldest cooking vessels used inMorocco. It is made of two pieces of red clay.

Over time, people added iron and wood to make it easier to handle when hot. The thin iron stick around the Tajine holds it tightly because the original clay version was fragile when exposed to fire.

I wanted to talk about it because my mother often used the Tajine for cooking when I was a child. I always wondered what made it special. I learned that the Tajine uses heat from the to cook food slowly, making vegetables and meat juicy. This slow cooking blends the flavors together.

Thinking about it now makes me hungry. The creativity of people in the past amazes me. Their harmony with nature helped them create such a lasting vessel. The Tajine symbolizes Moroccan creativity.

I hope to make it more popular be designing a restaurant shaped like a Tajine, specializing in all types of Tajine dishes.
